The Parilla Cemetery is a small plot fenced in the paddock of A. Hutchen's farm, Block 100, two miles north of the Claypan Road. Only two men are buried there.
The first man to be buried was Mr. Schneider, who passed away in December 1912 aged 80 years, and the second is Mr. Hansen, who died on 31st January 1913.
Extract from death entry - Joachim Schneider, died 27th December 1912 aged 80 years, resided Parilla.
Schneider was on the farm at Scrubby Springs. The house was in the corner of Des Hancock's farm, Block 21, just across the road from the telephone exchange. A year or two later, the house was burnt, so the rest of the family left. Schneider was buried in the Parilla Cemetery.
Extract from death entry: Jens Christian Hansen, died 31st January 1913 aged 67 years, resided Hundred of Parilla.
Hansen always came in for his supplies on Tuesdays, but when he didn't come in by Friday, the baker Mr. Harrop went out on the Friday and found him dead. Sim Gregory helped to put him in the coffin and said you had to have a lot of brandy. Hansen was on the farm that Eisens now have (Block 25)
